The Reef: A Human History

A typographic installation responding to Australian author Ian McCalman’s text The Reef: A Passionate History. The installation explores McCalman's personal experience of The Great Barrier Reef and the four different ways in which The Reef has been and continues to be seen today. Four different tote bags were also created with the intention of being sellable items in the gift shop. The tote bags act as direct, usable replicas of the panels in the installation and act as a personal extention of the user's experience of the installation experience and their understanding of The Great Barrier Reef.
